About the Pennsylvania Charter School Foundation:
Several years ago, the Pennsylvania Coalition of Charter Schools (PCCS) reached out to member schools in developing its organizational strategic plan. What PCCS heard was a need from school leaders for competent and cost effective experts who could help develop and implement strategies for student and school success. From this, the PA Charter School Foundation and its primary project, the Center for Charter School Enhancement was born. In January 2008, the Foundation was established as a non-profit 501(c)3. With several planning grants during 2008-2009, the Center is developing pilot programs designed to help charter school teachers and leaders meet the needs of their students and school, as well as overcome challenges of providing innovative, results-oriented opportunities to students and their families. Our 2008-2009 Initiatives:
- Statewide Needs Assessment
A statewide assessment of Charter School needs is currently being conducted with Charter School Leaders through an online survey. This data combined with a literature review, and other forms of research will lead the Foundation in determining its services for the future.
- Service Provider Network
The Service Provider Network will feature a select group of service provider organizations and businesses that provide quality educational and operational expertise to Charter Schools. Organizations who have past experience working with Charter Schools can apply to be part of this Network. To learn more about the Network and apply refer to the following links:

- Teacher Training Cadre
The Teacher Training Cadre is a select group of exemplary charter school education professionals who have demonstrated exceptional skills in their subject/curriculum area, and are able to share their experience with other educators. Schools may nominate one or more educational professionals to the Cadre. To learn more about the Cadre and nominate an educational professional refer to the following links:
